Wooten's Everglades

Wooten's Everglades is an air-boat tour company along highway 41 going to Miami. I went searching from something to do on a Sunday afternoon and ran across their website. Although I wasn't sold initially since their site takes a while to extract a working phone number, the 800 number worked not so lucky with the local one. But since I haven't been out in the everglades for a long time and my girfriend had never been out, I decided to go.

Below are some photos of the trip.

An alligator, but he's hidden by the sun. The dock area. Me & Lisa & our Captain. Open Water Captain Splash Grasslands Mangroves More Mangroves

Overall it was a pretty good time, I just wish the drive hadn't been three times longer than the actual boat ride. Our tour guide seemed very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and habitat, he took almost every opportunity get most of the guests a little soaked with well provoked boat turns. Also, they don't tell you this, but when you buy your ticket, you have to wait around for a minimum of thirty minutes even though their site says they have boats leaving every half hour. I am sure there is some level of false advertising here, I tried to plan according and arrive 5 minutes before departure but my attempts were dashed by this unwritten policy. Their gift shop is conveniently located within walking distance, I am sure this has something to do with the "waiting period".
